Here is how my blog/gemlog works
I write a post using markdown in ghostwriter. There are two scripts that run on my server to process the markdown, one converts it to HTML (blop) for my blog, the other converts it to GMI and indexes it for my gemlog.
The whole process couldn’t be easier. I drop a post in a folder, it shows up on my blog and gemlog. I was trying to create a low-friction solution for making posts on multiple protocols without creating a lot of extra work every time I wanted to write. I think this strikes that balance perfectly.
The only somewhat difficult part is manually posting/adding a link to Fosstodon for “comments”, but that doesn’t bother me much.
Time to hopefully use this again. I haven’t had a post since 2023! (oof)
